Upon arrival at Lusaka International Airport, guests will be met for a flight to Mfuwe. Transfer to Kafunta River Lodge for a three-night stay located on the Luangwa River. Enjoy an afternoon game drive in the South Luangwa National Park. (LD)
3 nights Kafunta River Lodge
Kafunta River Lodge is a classic Zambian safari lodge and combines all the essentials for a great safari. Here you will find the rest and peace you need after an exciting day on safari in combination with personalised service and a warm welcome by the team. Highly qualified guides take you on exciting game drives and share their extensive knowledge of the Zambian bush with you.
At Kafunta River Lodge, each of the luxury private chalets and the main lounge & dining area overlook the game rich flood plain. Beyond the plain is the Luangwa River and one of the best game viewing areas of the magical South Luangwa National Park, the premier park in Zambia and one of the best national parks in all of Africa.
The eight private safari chalets have been built on raised wooden platforms and have thatched roofs. They are tastefully decorated with African style and charm. Additionally, there are two luxury suites which feature a private deck, an upstairs viewing veranda and a luxurious bathroom.
After breakfast, transfer to Mfuwe Airport for a scheduled flight to the Lower Zambezi. Arrive at Royal Zambezi Lodge for a four-night stay. (BLD)
4 nights Royal Zambezi Lodge
Royal Zambezi Lodge was designed by a family with in-depth knowledge and love of Africa, its heritage and its wildlife. Set against the breathtaking mountain backdrop of the Zambezi Valley Escarpment, located within the Chiawa Game Management Area and has three and a half kilometres of unspoiled river frontage on the northern bank of the Zambezi River.
The lodge offers the perfect combination of contemporary, simplistic style and extreme comfort while providing a pure wilderness experience. With lions roaring in the distance and hippos snorting in the river, the luxurious thatched suites, elegant design and gourmet cuisine of Royal Zambezi Lodge furnish a perfect base from which to explore this wild and beautiful area. There are no fences around the lodge, and the regular guests include elephant, hippo, buffalo, lion, leopard and a myriad of bird species coming to visit.
