Full Time: Safari Specialist
Bench Africa is seeking an experienced Safari Specialist to join our team in a full-time, permanent role. The position is primarily remote, with flexibility to work from anywhere in Australia, and the backing of a small, knowledgeable, and supportive team.
With over 55 years of expertise, Bench Africa is one of Australia’s longest-standing Africa travel specialists. We focus solely on travel to the African continent and pride ourselves on delivering thoughtful, individualised journeys. Our team has deep firsthand knowledge of the destinations we sell, and we value genuine service, attention to detail and a love of Africa.
As a Safari Specialist at Bench Africa, you will be at the forefront of bringing these journeys to life. You’ll manage enquiries and bookings from start to finish, handling quotes, responding to emails, offering detailed advice, and building personalised itineraries that match each client’s needs. You’ll also play a key role in supporting travel agents with destination knowledge, helping them feel confident in selling Africa and building strong, long-term relationships.
The role is dynamic and varied. In addition to designing itineraries and handling bookings, you may occasionally be involved in trade events or industry promotions.
To succeed in this position, you’ll need firsthand knowledge of Africa and previous experience in tailormade travel sales. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, as is attention to detail and the ability to multitask. You should be comfortable working independently from home, but also confident collaborating within a supportive team.
