Trip itinerary
Accommodation: 1 night The Weinberg Boutique Hotel.
Situated in the upmarket suburb of Klein Windhoek, 30 minutes from Hosea Kutako International Airport, The Weinberg Boutique Hotel sets a new benchmark for luxury accommodation in the Namibian capital.
The hotel forms part of the award-winning The Weinberg Boutique Hotel, and is fast developing a reputation as Windhoek’s premier venue for business conferencing, destination weddings and leisure travel. The intimate boutique hotel has only 41 rooms, ensuring that guests enjoy tailored, attentive and detail focused service at all times. Its iconic styling seamlessly blends old-world splendour with modern lines and state of the art amenities, ensuring an unparalleled guest experience.
This morning you will be taken to Eros Airport for your scheduled light aircraft flight to the Sossusvlei. The scenic flight will take you over the central highlands of Namibia before descending after the escarpment and on over the Namib Desert to the Namib Rand Nature Reserve. Upon arrival you will be met by a local guide and transferred to your camp. (BLD)
Accommodation: 2 nights Sossusvlei Desert Lodge.
Nestled deep in the heart of Namibia's ancient Namib Desert in Southern Africa, Sossusvlei Desert Lodge is a secluded and serene oasis that overlooks awe-inspiring dunes and stony outcrops. A world of vast spaces, endless horizons and rugged mountain heights, the utter tranquility and extraordinary clarity of light make this area one of Africa’s most compelling landscapes.
In this spectacularly beautiful location, spacious and serene suites envelope guests in pure indulgence, complete with an outdoor shower and a dramatic skylight over the bed for late night stargazing.
If you're up for something more active, quad biking adventures, hikes and walks will let you explore the surrounding scenery and satisfy your sense of adventure.
Enter the Namib Naukluft National Park at sunrise which plays host to some of the highest freestanding sand dunes in the world. Your local guide will give you an insight into the formation of the Namib Desert and its myriad of fascinating creatures. Return to the lodge for lunch and an afternoon at leisure with the option to take a guided tour within the Reserve. (BLD)
After breakfast fly north to Damaraland over the famous Sossusvlei dunes and the great sand sea towards the coast, where possibly you will see deserted mines, shipwrecks and seal colonies. Continue to Twyfeltontein where you will meet your private naturalist guide who will accompany you for the rest of your safari. After lunch visit the rock engravings of the Burnt Mountains and the Organ Pipes. Return to the camp for sundowners drinks. (BLD)
Accommodation: 2 nights Onduli Ridge.
Onduli Ridge, named after the resident giraffe of the area, is built at the base of two south facing granite outcrops which are connected by a ridge. This location allows for magnificent views of Namibia’s highest mountain, the Brandberg, to the south and the dispersed cathedral-like granite inselbergs to the north.
The six suites are hidden amongst the granite boulders that nestle the camp and the more temperate climate of central Damaraland allows for naturally ventilated suites, partial open-air bathrooms and largely open communal areas. The camp is designed to maximise the views of this most extraordinary landscape and every space becomes a viewpoint whether from the bed, the desk or the bathroom.
After an early breakfast you will be treated to an exciting 4X4 excursion along the Aba Huab River Valley to explore this remarkable region and to search for game, especially the elusive desert adapted elephants if they are in the area. Damaraland is home to a variety of desert adapted wildlife and hidden desert treasures. You will normally then return to camp for lunch and a well-deserved siesta. Your guide will arrange to fit in a visit to Twyfelfontein and other nearby attractions if this hasn’t already been done, or you can take a guided walk into the local area around camp. (BLD)
This morning you will depart early and travel north deeper into the heart of Damaraland. Enroute you will visit an extremely remote Himba village, only known to a few people. Your guide’s presence and contacts with the local community will ensure you will be welcomed as a ‘friend of a friend’ and that you will be able to spend considerable time there learning about these fascinating nomadic pastoralists. There has been virtually no modern influence on these communities, which makes for a fascinating cultural exchange. You will then continue on your journey, having a picnic lunch enroute, and arrive at Andersson’s Camp on the southern border of Etosha late afternoon. This should leave some time to relax at the camp’s floodlit waterhole whilst contemplating the fascinating impressions of the day. (BLD)
Accommodation: 2 nights Anderssons at Ongava.
Guests at Anderssons at Ongava have the option of being immersed in and can contribute to developing creative, knowledge driven solutions with resident scientists, visiting researchers, conservationists and rhino security personnel, or simply relaxing and enjoying the luxurious guest suites, waterhole, photographic hide, and pool where they will find their own personal place for reflection.
Ensuring a light footprint and an exceptional experience, Anderssons at Ongava will have seven contemporary designed luxury guest units and one family unit, accommodating a maximum of 18 Guests.
With colours, textures and materials that connect guests more closely to the safari experience, the guest suites at Anderssons at Ongava are designed to inspire. They are a direct extension of the landscape, with a natural stone buttress that draws guests in and engenders a deep sense of place. Using natural elements and luxurious touches, the spacious suites reflect the environment, while offering guests a climate-controlled sanctuary in the bush. Each suite has a private viewing deck with a 180 degree panorama.
Today you will take an exciting morning guided game drive in the Etosha National Park, to see more of the wide variety of game and bird species found there. Return to camp for a late lunch. Late afternoon enjoy another game drive before exiting the park before sunset. Alternatively, you can choose to spend the whole day in the park with a picnic lunch. The evening can be spent game viewing at the camp’s floodlit waterhole while enjoying dinner. (BLD)
After breakfast this morning you will travel south from the Etosha National Park through the small towns of Outjo and Otjiwarongo before stopping at the Okonjima Day Centre. Here you will be treated to a short game drive and educational tour of the AfriCat Foundation in order to learn about the great work being done here with regards to the conservation of Africa’s large cats. Lunch will be enjoyed at the centre before continuing to Windhoek, stopping in Okahandja to visit the local craft market for some last minute curio shopping if time permits. (BL)

What our customers say
A wonderful, unforgettable perfect trip in Namibia. The lodges, the activities, the flights, the food, the staff - everything was perfect.
Paulchen Meier
Bench and Ultimate Safaris provided us with an incredibly memorable experience throughout Namibia. We were blessed with a fabulous guide, Tim who was not only extremely knowledgable but exceptionally caring, supportive, humorous and always put his 7 guests first. The accommodation was unbelievable. Every lodge was specifically designed to meld into the very diverse environments and never short of 4 star. The drives were long and hot but the geography was so different - from sandy and rocky deserts to seaside towns and animal laden reserves. Our safaris were spectacular. We saw so much that we'll never forget.
