Thabamati Luxury Tented Camp lies within the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve. With just four spacious tents, this intimate camp caters to only eight guests, ensuring personalised service and a sense of exclusivity. Each tent overlooks a dam, providing serene views of the water and the majestic Drakensberg Mountains. The open-plan design incorporates a comfortable seating area, a bedroom, and a writing desk, creating a luxurious atmosphere for relaxation. Ensuite bathrooms feature free-standing baths, and indoor and outdoor showers that open to the natural surroundings. Guests can enjoy guided morning and afternoon game drives and nature walks led by a qualified field guide. Children aged 10 and older are welcome.

Trip itinerary

Day 1

On arrival at Hoedspruit Airport you will be met and transferred to the Timbavati Game Reserve to your lodge in time for an afternoon game drive. (D)

Accommodation: 2 nights Thabamati Luxury Tented Camp.

Thabamati, meaning “mountain and water”, became a reality in 2019. The camp consists of 4 luxurious and spacious en-suite safari-style tents, each overlooking a beautiful dam with amazing views of the Drakensberg Mountains beyond. The elegant intimate tented camp accommodates only 8 guests, which is an added attraction.

The highlight is probably observing the wildlife, including the Big Five and numerous bird species, in their natural surroundings during our game drives and optional daily short bush-walks. The camp is eco-friendly, utilizing only solar power and gas, however still offering modern day luxuries. This means that you can enjoy what Mother Nature has to offer with a green conscience.
