Day 1 - Selous Game Reserve
Fly by light aircraft from Dar es Salaam to the Selous Game Reserve. Transfer from the airstrip to your accommodation and after lunch enjoy an afternoon game activity. (LD)

Sheltered in a grove of palms on the shores of Lake Nzerakera, part of the watery byways of the Rufiji River system, Siwandu is perfectly situated to fully experience the breathtaking landscape and abundant wildlife of Selous Game Reserve.
Broadly spaced along the lakeshore, Siwandu’s superbly appointed accommodation ensures maximum privacy and every opportunity to soak up the sights and sounds of Selous. From either of the wooden decked verandas sit with a cup of tea at sunrise watching the bush come to life, or relax with a gin and tonic as the bush blushes under sunset.
The spacious octagonal tents of canvas and secure mosquito netting and topped in thatch, not only allows for constant air-flow, but also enables guests to gaze upon the animals as they saunter past on the same day. Observe them while reclining on the majestic king sized bed under the overhead fan or from the open-air stargazer, solar-heated showers which adjoin the en suite bathrooms.
Day 2 to Day 3 - Selous Game Reserve
Spend two full days exploring the Selous Game Reserve with scheduled activities provided by your camp. A third of Tanzania’s elephant are found in Selous, and two thirds of the wild dog population. The Reserve is also home to large numbers of buffalo, lion as well as a great many antelope species. Spend the days exploring the Reserve with professional guides on game drives, walking safaris and relaxing boating safaris along the waterways of Rufiji River. (BLD)
Day 4 - Ruaha National Park
After an early morning activity and then breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for your light aircraft flight to Ruaha National Park. On arrival transfer to your accommodation. (BLD)
Accommodation: 3 nights Jongomero.
Under the magnificent shade trees, on the banks of a seasonal river in the remote southern sector of the Ruaha National Park, Jongomero is gloriously isolated. Far from the madding crowds, this secluded idyll offers a chance to discover true unadulterated wilderness.
Accommodation at Jongomero comprises eight large and well-appointed tented suites, built on raised wooden platforms, under enormous thatched roofs that also encompass a spacious private instant veranda which overlooks the riverbed. Snuggle under warming quilts in an eight-foot wide dhow wood emperor bed and fall asleep to the hum of Africa beyond the canvas and wake up to the morning tea tray and animals ambling past your mosquito net windows.
Day 5 to Day 6 - Ruaha National Park
The next two days are spent exploring the National Park. Ruaha has a large lion population as well as wild dog, leopard, cheetah and hyena. The Park also has over 530 recorded bird species. Experience the wealth of biodiversity that Ruaha has to offer on game drives in open safari vehicles and walking safaris with the experienced guides. (BLD)
Day 7 - End of your Southern Tanzania Highlights Safari
After a morning game drive transfer to the airstrip for your light aircraft flight back to Dar es Salaam and your onward arrangements. (B)
