Shipwreck Lodge

Designed to echo the shipwrecks that are scattered along the tumultuous Namibian coastline, Shipwreck Lodge will be a singular experience. This exclusive destination opens its doors in June 2018. Located in the famous Skeleton Coast Central Concession between the Huarusib and Hoanib River in the Skeleton Coast Park, only 45km North of Möwe Bay, the lodge is situated on the southern bank of the Huarusib River Mouth, nestled between the dunes with a view to the moody Atlantic Ocean.

From the sheltered deck, watch the waves crashing onto the lonely beach and experience a surreal sense of being suspended in time as the mist curls in from the ocean, wreathing the dunes in white.

Möwe Bay seal Colony excursions

Excursions to Möwe Bay seal Colony There are day excursions by vehicle to the Möwe Bay seal colony. Guests will be shown the remnants of the Suiderkus Shipwreck, along the beach past the remains of the Karimona

Shipwreck, abandoned Westies diamond mine, remains of the Ventura Bomber, to the beautiful natural wind shelter created by the reeds at the Flamingo pools.

Sundowner drive

Embark on a sundowner drive to the Roaring Dunes where the desert’s voice can be heard. Or explore the shore of the Atlantic Ocean while overlooking thesun disappearing into the waves.

Huarusib River excursion

Huarusib River excursion A 4x4 trip to the Clay castles, a natural geological formation, where brown hyenas are often encountered. Fortunate clients could possibly see the desert adapted elephants and lions.

Beach Lunch
(weather permitting)
