Trip itinerary

Day 1

On arrival at Cape Town Airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

Accommodation: 4 nights Southern Sun Waterfront.

The Southern Sun Waterfront Cape Town is situated in the heart of the city’s most sought-after areas. Being a short walk away from the famous V&A Waterfront and other Cape Town sights is just the start of this iconic accommodation landmark’s appeal. Postcard views of the harbour and of Signal Hill are rivalled only by the stylish, inviting presence of the hotel itself. Recently refurbished, the award-winning Cape Town hotel offers 537 beautifully-appointed rooms, with a host of amenities and services on offer, including free Wi-Fi, air-conditioning, a fully-equipped fitness centre and an outdoor pool.

Day 2

Enjoy the morning at leisure. At 13h30 you will be collected for your Half-day City & Table Mountain Tour - a geographical and cultural extravaganza showing you Cape Town from its historical beginnings to the dazzling, modern city it is today. Table Mountain ticket excluded (as weather permitting). (B)

Day 3

At 08h30 this morning you will be collected for your Full-day Cape Point & Peninsula Tour. This awe-inspiring tour to the towering headland known as Cape Point encompasses magnificent beaches, breathtaking views, and picturesque coastal villages. The Cape Peninsula is one of the world's most scenic areas and stretches from the City centre to Cape Point. Highlights include: the Atlantic Seaboard (Clifton, Camps Bay, Twelve Apostles), Hout Bay harbour with an optional boat trip to Seal Island, the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, lunch at seaside restaurant (to be paid for locally), Boulder’s Beach Penguin Colony, and Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens. You will be dropped back off at your hotel at roughly 17h30. (B)

Day 4

Full day at leisure to explore Cape Town yourself. (B)

Day 5

After breakfast you will be met and transferred to Stellenbosch in the Cape Winelands. (B)

Accommodation: 2 nights De Zalze Lodge

De Zalze Lodge is a Cape Dutch vernacular style guest lodge overlooking the lush vineyards and breathtaking Stellenbosch mountains. Nestled against the first fairway of the De Zalze Golf Course, this luxurious four-star establishment provides relaxed yet pristine accommodation with an array of leisurely pastimes guaranteed to unwind the stresses of modern day living.

Guests are invited to enjoy wine tastings, cycling trails through the rolling vineyards, or simply to relax by the pool. All in all, the selection of offerings – coupled with the exquisite location and impeccable service – make for a pleasurable, revitalising and unforgettable stay.

Day 6

Full day at leisure to explore the Cape Winelands. (B)

Day 7

After breakfast you will be met and transferred to Cape Town Airport in time for your onward flight to Hoedspruit (flight not included in package). (BLD)

On arrival at Hoedspruit Airport you will be met and transferred to the lodge. After lunch you will experience your first game drive in an open 4X4 safari vehicle with ranger and tracker, followed by dinner.

Accommodation: 4 nights Chisomo Safari Camp

Located within the Karongwe Game Reserve, with Kruger National Park and the major points of interest in Limpopo and Mpumalanga within driving distance, is a collection of fine family owned lodges. Bordered by the towering Drakensberg escarpment on the west and set in game-rich, lush vegetation, this splendid game reserve offers a variety of breathtaking views, diverse landscapes and an unrivalled African Safari experience with the opportunity of seeing the 'Big Five' (lion, leopard, rhino, elephant, buffalo). Here is a lodge to suit all tastes and budget.

The tented camp offers 22 well appointed and spacious luxury tents with en-suite bathroom, raised on platforms and set under majestic trees overlooking the river. The warm atmosphere, friendly staff and fine cuisine complement the excellent Big Five game viewing here. Guests can enjoy the wildlife exploring the surrounding lush vegetation from the private game viewing deck. Between activities cool down in the pool or simply relax on the deck enjoying the sound of the bush. Children over four years of age are welcome.

Day 8

Start the day with a guided bush walk and learn about the medicinal uses of the various trees and the deep cultural connections to the fauna and flora of the African culture. The walk will give you the opportunity to get a closer look at animal tracks and be fascinated by birds and smaller creatures. After lunch enjoy a game drive and return to the lodge in time for a delicious dinner. (BLD)

Day 9

Enjoy morning and late afternoon game activities on the reserve. This evening experience a traditional boma dinner while being entertained by the local dancers. (BLD)

Another day of game drives and activities. (BLD)

Day 11

Enjoy your final early morning game drive before breakfast, followed by a transfer to Hoedspruit Airport for your onward flight. (B)
