Located in the Selous Game Reserve, Sand Rivers Selous is positioned on the banks of the river under the shade of trees. The camp has just eight stone and thatched cottages, all are open-fronted and raised on decks overlooking the river. Each room has been designed for maximum comfort without losing the connection with the African bush. Activities include game drives, walking safaris and a boating safari up to Steiglers Gorge.

Trip itinerary

Day 1

On arrival at Dar es Salaam Airport you will be transferred to your light aircraft flight from Dar es Salaam to Selous. (D)

Accommodation: 3 nights Sand Rivers Selous.

Sand Rivers Selous is an intimate safari lodge in Tanzania's Selous Game Reserve, set on a rocky peninsula with views over the Rufiji River. The lodge offers a unique blend of classic safari elegance combined with the ruggedness of a genuine bush adventure, overlooking the river that is brimming with hippos and crocodiles.

Sand Rivers Selous has just eight stone and thatched Cottages, all are open-fronted and raised on decks overlooking the river. There are five Riverside Rooms - with en-suite bathrooms, hot and cold running water, flush toilets and powerful showers - and three Hillside Suites. The suites have all the above, but a large living space and a small plunge pool.

Day 2 - 3

Enjoy morning and afternoon game viewing activities. (BLD)

Day 4

This morning after breakfast and a possible morning activity you will be transferred to the airstrip for your flight to Dar es Salaam. (B)
