Trip itinerary

Day 1

On arrival at Wilson Airport you will board your light aircraft flight to Amboseli National Park. On arrival you will enjoy a morning game drive with the best views of Mount Kilimanjaro and then lunch at your camp. In the afternoon a game drive in the local conservancy ending with bush sundowner. (LD)

Accommodation: 2 nights Elerai Camp.

Elerai Camp is located in a quiet, unspoilt, unique setting on a 5,000 acres private conservation area 12kms south east of Amboseli National Park at the foot of Africa’s largest mountain, Mt Kilimanjaro. The camp looks over Amboseli National Park and Mt Kilimanjaro, giving you what is arguably the best location of any camp in the area.

The camp offers 12 tents and 5 suites. Each tent has its own en-suite bathroom with solar hot showers and a toilet with a view. Raised cedar wood floors, acacia poles and makuti (thatch) roofing complement the surrounding environment. Large balconies with relaxing day beds combine to offer the perfect place to lie as you take in the ambiance when relaxing.

The elegantly furnished suite rooms have large sliding doors that open out onto your own private veranda overlooking the plains below and Amboseli National Park. Elephants, giraffe’s and zebra are seen most days from the comfort of your room. Designed using natural rock and acacia wood, the bathrooms have their own naturally crafted bathtub and shower which is unique to Elerai.

Please note: Elerai Camp is closed between 25/04/2022 - 19/05/2022, during this time clients will stay at Tortilis Camp on a private conservancy bordering the national park.

Day 2

An early morning game guided walk with a visit to Elerai Authentic Masai cultural village then back to the camp for breakfast. After breakfast you will drive to Amboseli National Park with a packed lunch and spend the full day in the park where you will have a great opportunity to take that classic animal shot with Mt Kilimanjaro in the background. (BLD)

Day 3

After breakfast you will be transferred to the local airstrip for your light aircraft flight from Amboseli, via Nairobi, to Lewa Conservancy. On landing you will be met and transferred to your next camp for lunch and then an afternoon game drive. (BLD)

Accommodation: 2 nights Lewa Safari Camp.

Sprawling over the Laikipia plains, Lewa Wildlife Conservancy is a prolific wildlife conservancy that is popular with celebrities, conservationists, writers and photographers.

Visitors to Lewa are privy to some of the most spectacular wildlife viewing that Kenya has to offer: lion, leopard and jackal thrive on the rich diversity of prey that inhabits the area. The Wildlife Conservancy is home to the largest concentration of Grevy’s zebra in the world, and its range of habitats attracts diverse birdlife and hosts over 130 Black and White rhino.

Featuring large tented bedrooms with verandahs and full en-suite bathrooms, Lewa Safari camp offers authentic comfort for its visitors; cozy log fires in the sitting room are perfect for relaxing after a day in the Conservancy. This unique and exclusive retreat offers privileged access to 65,000 acres of private protected wilderness.

Underpinning the glamorous magnetism of Lewa Wildlife Conservancy is a serious mission: a pioneering and pragmatic approach to conservation, founded in the 1970’s, that has developed into a thriving and globally recognised rhino conservation habitat.

Day 4

A full day of game viewing activities as provided by the camp. (BLD)

Day 5

Enjoy breakfast before being transferred to the local airstrip for your light aircraft flight to the Masai Mara. On arrival in the Mara you will be met and transferred to your camp and arriving in time for lunch. In the afternoon join your first game drive in the Mara. (BLD)

Accommodation: 3 nights Karen Blixen Camp.

Karen Blixen Camp is an eco-friendly camp providing a luxurious and stylish retreat after each day’s adventure. Karen Blixen Camp comprises large luxury canvas tents, each placed with privacy and undisturbed view along the Mara River. The stylish restaurant, the reception, the lounge and bar and the gift shop with internet are set on a raised wooden deck and furnished with accurate reproductions of Karen Blixen’s private furniture to fit in with the cozy atmosphere. Enjoy a refreshing swim in-between game drives in the swimming pool placed in the midst of graceful Acacia and Olive trees.

Day 6 - 7

You have two full days to explore the Masai Mara with the game viewing activities offered by the camp or you can choose to spend a little relaxation time at the camp and enjoy the facilities they have to offer. (BLD)

Day 8

After you final breakfast in the Mara you will be transferred to the local airstrip for your light aircraft flight back to Nairobi and the end of your safari experience. (B)
