Hamilton’s Tented Camp is named after Colonel Stephenson Hamilton, the camp reflects a safari adventure of the early 1900’s, with grace and style, now operated entirely on solar power. Located in the Imbali Private Concession of the Kruger National Park, follow the fine tradition of luxury in true ‘Out of Africa’ style, and journey into a bygone era. Six canvas tents complete with teak floorboards, outdoor showers and a superb view of the seasonal river are linked to the main lodge area by raised timber walkways. Situated within the Kruger National Park which boasts one of the most diverse game viewing experiences in South Africa and is home to an estimated 1,500 lion, 12,000 elephant, 2,500 buffalo, 1,000 leopards and 5,000 rhino (black and white). Lions are scattered throughout the Park, most commonly found in the grasslands, where the favourite prey of zebra and wildebeest are found. “The Hamilton’s Pride” are frequent visitors to the Ngwenyeni Dam and the immediate area around the lodge. Leopards are shy animals that hunt at night. Hamilton’s Tented Camp are fortunately in a high leopard density area and sightings are frequent. Spotting the tawny-yellow body with black rosette spots, as it blends in perfectly into its surrounds is a definite highlight of any nocturnal safari.
Enjoy morning and afternoon game viewing activities. (BLD)
After breakfast and an early morning game drive (time permitting), you will be transferred to the Airport for your onward flight. (B)
