From start to finish our trip was incredible
From start to finish our trip was incredible.
We are a family of 7 who travelled from Sydney to Johannesburg, Zambia, Tanzania, Kenya and a stop over in Dubai on the way home.
Julie from Bench Africa arranged everything, from flights, meet and greet, transfers and accomodation and every single detail was covered and ran like clock work.
All up we had 12 flights, some to very remote airstrips and without fail, there was always a smiling face at the other end to meet us and transfer us to the next destination.
In Zambia we were lucky enough to stay at Baines River Camp, this place is simply amazing. From the accomodation, the food, the staff, and of course our guide Weston, everything was 5 star.
Then onto to Tanzania, we stayed at Lemala Ngorongoro Camp and Sergengeti Wilderness Camp, both were beautiful with amazingly warm and friendly staff. Its hard to believe the facilities and food they provide in such remote settings but everything was so tasty and the tents were just perfect.
Last but not least we spent 2 nights at Karen Blixen Camp in Kenya - these tents are luxurious and very well appointed. The restaurant served up a fabulous selection of meals and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It was a little more commercialised than what we had experienced in the other locations, but we thoroughly enjoyed it and would highly recommend it to families.
Overall the entire trip was such an amazing experience for our whole family and I wouldn't change a thing.

Day 1 - Lower Zambezi National Park
On arrival at Lusaka Airport you will join a scheduled flight to Royal Airstrip in Lower Zambezi National Park. On arrival you will be met and transferred by road to Baines River Camp. (D)
Accommodation: 3 nights Baines River Camp.In an unfenced wilderness sits this intimate and elegant safari camp, with eight individual suites and private veranda offering breathtaking views across the river. Situated on the north bank of the legendary Zambezi River in the south-eastern part of Zambia, opposite Zimbabwe’s Mana Pools National Park, the Lower Zambezi National Park has 120km of river frontage. The Park has been protected from mass tourism and remains one of the few pristine wilderness areas left in Africa. With rugged escarpment, river and numerous islands, lagoons and floodplains, the animals and birds are attracted in huge numbers with approximately 50 mammal species and 400 bird species.
Day 2 to Day 3 - Lower Zambezi National Park
Enjoy morning and afternoon game viewing activities. (BLD)
Day 4 - End of Baines River Camp Tour
After a morning game drive and breakfast you will be transferred by road to Royal Airstrip for your onward flight to Lusaka Airport where the tour ends. (B)
