The good news that we have all been waiting for: it’s now official – tourism visas for Mozambique can now be obtained on arrival at the border post.
A Government issued notice has confirmed that citizens from countries that require a tourism visa to enter Mozambique will be able to obtain one on arrival at 44 border posts. Thiese include Maputo, Vilanculos, Inhambane, Beira, Pemba and Nampula airports and the Ponto D’ouro border post (for White Pearl). This ew regulation is already in effect.
We recommend clients carry copies of their booking confirmations as well as their airline tickets when arriving at the border posts.
DO I NEED A VISA TO TRAVEL TO MOZAMBIQUE?
At the time of writing, a visa for Mozambique is required for Australian Passport Holders. The visa can be obtained on arrival at the airport and paid for in US Dollars cash.
WHAT IS THE COST OF A MOZAMBIQUE VISA?
Single Entry Visa: USD 50 per person
An additional USD 2.50 per person is charged for Stamp Duty on an Australian Passport (subject to change).
LOCAL DEPARTURE/ARRIVAL TAX
Local taxes are applicable when arriving or departing from a number of Mozambique’s airports – amounts are subject to change.
Pemba: Immigration tax of USD 6 per person to be paid on arrival/departure from Pemba Airport
Vilanculos: Immigration tax of USD 6 per person to be paid on arrival/departure from Vilanculos Airport
Inhambane: Immigration tax of ZAR 17 per person to be paid on arrival/departure from Inhambane Airport
