Trip itinerary
The journey begins by travelling through the Khomas Hochland mountains into the iconic Sossusvlei region and onto Kulala Adventurer Camp. (LD)
Accommodation: 2 nights Kulala Adventurer Camp.
Situated near the spectacular sights of Sossusvlei, the private Kulala Wilderness Reserve is home to Kulala Adventurer Camp. The camp, comprising of five ‘maxi’ dome tents under the shade, is perfect for taking in the Reserve’s expansive vistas and stark beauty and enjoys views into the Namib Naukluft National Park. Dining under the stars-filled Namibian skies and watching a rose-red sunset punctuated by the cacophony of barking geckos are just a few of the highlights, as is spending unrushed quality time at the towering dunes of Sossusvlei, known for their red colouring in the early morning sunlight.
Early this morning enter the park through the private gate closer to the dunes allowing early access with improved photographic opportunities at sunrise. Enjoy a variety of activities that include day and night drives and guided walks. (BLD)
Today drive via the Kuiseb Canyon to Walvis Bay, and then on to Swakopmund. Here you have time at leisure to participate in the many optional activities on offer. Explore the Atlantic coast and its incredible marine mammals, on a Dolphin and Seal catamaran cruise including a private seafood lunch. (BD) & (BL)
Accommodation: 2 night Hansa Hotel.
A timeless classic forming part of Swakopmund’s architectural culture is the grand Hansa Hotel, dating back to 1905. Conveniently located in the centre of town, the Hansa Hotel is within easy walking distance to the waterfront, shops, cafes, the aquarium, Crystal Gallery and other attractions which Swakopmund has to offer. Not only is the Hansa Hotel world renowned for its outstanding cuisine, but also comparable with the most prestigious address encountered abroad. This luxurious residence places emphasis not only on personalised service and elegant style, but also affordability.
Continue north into Damaraland, west of the Brandberg Mountain. Boasting a breathtaking assortment of desert adapted species including one of the highest concentrations of desert elephant and black rhino. Activities range from day and night nature walks, viewing the rock engravings at Twyfelfontein to daytime nature drives, exploring the mountains, river beds and springs. (BLD)
Accommodation: 2 nights Damaraland Adventurer Camp.
The camp is located in a special place in the heart of the rocky desert, an ancient, starkly beautiful landscape, offering endless vistas and one of the best wilderness areas in Namibia. Early morning mists drift inland along the river valley, providing sustenance to the flora and fauna of the region, hence the high density of wildlife in the area. Accommodation is in five ‘maxi’ dome tents set on timber platforms with a small viewing deck to sit and contemplate the surrounding beauty. Tucked away in and amongst the sandstone hills, each tent is surprisingly spacious with a comfortable bed, cotton linen and en-suite bathrooms.
Today you travel to Ongava Game Reserve for two nights. Here on the boundary of the Etosha National Park, experience big game viewing and the iconic salt pan in the Park. (BLD)
Accommodation: 2 nights Ongava Tented Camp.
Immersed in the African Mopani bush, Ongava Tented Camp is a natural extension of this wild, wonderful landscape.
The classic safari style camp is tucked in a hidden valley at the foot of a dolomite hill in Ongava Game Reserve bordering Etosha National Park.
Eight large comfortable Meru-style tents all have en-suite facilities, open air showers and private verandas; the family unit sleeps four. The main area, built of stone, canvas and thatch, fronts onto a much-frequented waterhole; watching wildlife coming to drink from here or from the swimming pool is a favourite pastime.
Ongava’s proximity to Etosha allows for game drives in the Etosha National Park and on the Ongava Reserve itself. Other possibilities include guided walks, birding and visiting hides. Ongava holds one of the largest rhino custodianships for the Namibian government in the country and is one of the few private game reserves in southern Africa where guests can see both black and white rhino.
Enjoy two full days with game drives into Etosha exploring the southern roads. Return to camp where after dark you observe the game at the floodlit waterhole and take a night game drive on the private reserve. (BLD)
After breakfast return to Windhoek and end of safari. (B)

What our customers say
My Diverse Namibia journey with Wilderness Safaris, booked with Bench Africa, was absolutely fantastic, a very good knowledgeable guide/driver, excellent camps, great variation of scenery and activities. Great adventure and lots of fun.
Dirk
We recently completed a Bench Tour in Namibia. Our tour guide was Toni Hart (Wilderness Safaris). We had a great time. We knew little of Namibia prior to our holiday and had been urged to visit Namibia by expat South Africans from my work. It was a truly fascinating trip with a touch of pioneering adventure. Our guide Toni was remarkable, driving long distances sharing an incredible amount of knowledge and personal information about Namibia and South Africa. Our bush camps were wonderfully remote, quiet and spectacular. The food was also exceptional, comparable to the best restaurants in the city. Our trip was altered as we travelled to take advantage of the weather and our physical condition. We were introduced to the locals giving us greater understanding of the life before European habitation. Thank you to Bench International and to Toni for a wonderful & exciting time together.
