Accommodation: 2 nights Zambezi Sands
The Zambezi Sands is situated within the western area of the Zambezi National Park on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River upstream of the Victoria Falls. Zambezi Sands is unique in that it features not only the Zambezi River, glorious wildlife and scenery, but is also close to the Victoria Falls. There are ten secluded Bedouin luxury tents offering complete privacy dotted along the river bank. Each room has twin or double beds, a lounge area, minibar, en-suite bathroom, outdoor shower and a private splash pool. Elephants can be found loitering on the mainland or in the river, while hippo, waterbuck and bushbuck frequent the reed banks and islands. Lions can be heard calling at night and the birdlife is prolific – African finfoot, African skimmer, pratincoles and Pel’s fishing owl all occur here. In-house activities include game drives, game walks, fishing, canoeing and island picnics.
Enjoy your day at leisure. (BLD)

What our customers say
I travelled in May with Bench to Victoria Falls and Hwange National Park. The trip was perfectly planned, full of animal sightings and unforgettable. The staff and drivers were so knowledgable and fun while still making sure we were safe. We stayed at the Zambezi Sands River Camp and also Gorges Lodge in Victoria Falls. In Hwange National Park we stayed Camelthorn, Bomani and Nehimba Lodges. While the whole experience and all of the lodges were incredible, I would definitely recommend Nehimba, where you get up close with the animals while still at the lodge. If you have the chance to do the walking safari you will not be disappointed.

We had a trip organised by Stephanie Osorio and found her very helpful and friendly. Everything planned went smoothly which added to our enjoyment of the trip. The end itinerary package was just amazing, something to keep and show friends. I will most certainly recommend Bench International and intend to have another trip organised in the future together with friends. Suzanna Ainsworth .

We would thoroughly recommend Bench. Kapama: great accommodation & food, lots of animals Zambezi Sands: great location, friendly staff, great canoe ride with hippos Camelthorn: enjoyed elephant train, great location, friendly staff, amazing game viewing especially from Hide Kuzuma: absolutely amazing, great food & accommodation, heaps of elephants, included day trip to Chobe National Park.(July not a good time to go to see other wildlife because of long grasses) Cape Town: in hindsight should have done first, not last

Everything worked like clockwork. With the exception of one meeting, all pick-ups were on time and all drivers pleasant and helpful. The accommodation was unusual and superb and the hosts and staff at both Camp Kuzuma and Zambezi Sands, welcoming and thoroughly professional. With the exception of the processing at Vic Falls and Joburg airports, we could not be happier with the whole experience. The only serious recommendation I would make is, don't exit Zimbabwe then South Africa on the same day. The passenger processing in both countries is third world standard and EXTREMELY slow and disorganised. We had to go through the diplomats gate to get to our luggage in Jo'burg. We would otherwise, still be there.
