Trip itinerary
Arrive in Nairobi and transfer to your hotel for an overnight stay.
Accommodation: 1 night Tamarind Tree.
Tamarind Tree Hotel is ideally located just 5 kms to the southwest of Nairobi within the spacious Carnivore grounds and its iconic Carnivore Restaurant. The hotel offers easy access to all parts of the city, its national park, as well as to the country’s many diverse attractions via the neighbouring Wilson Airport and Southern Bypass. The nearby Langata and Karen suburbs are among the liveliest and most popular in Nairobi with world-class shopping malls and excellent restaurants.
After breakfast, drive to Lake Naivasha for lunch. Enjoy a boat trip on the lake and a walking safari in Crescent Island Game Reserve. (BLD)
Accommodation: 1 night Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge.
Set in one hundred and fifty acres of grassland studded with Acacia bushes and trees, the resort is not only home to resident giraffe, waterbuck and both Vervet and Colobus monkeys, but it is also a night stop for the hippos when they leave the lake every night to come and trim the grass on the expansive lawns.
With Sopa’s traditional and conscientious care for the environment, they have carefully positioned all the buildings on the property so as not to fell any of the many trees there. As a result of this, they had to come up with a radically innovative and artistic design for the main public area building which now snakes its way between the trees with long and graceful curves.
It is also why you might well ask just why the two swimming pools with a children’s section and a pool complex with its bar, snack kitchen, pizzeria and health spa; tennis court; two conference halls with their four differently sized meeting areas, and stables are so widely set apart.
Drive to Lake Nakuru National Park for morning and afternoon game drives, looking for rhinos. (BLD)
Accommodation: 1 night Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge.
Located on a range of hills that form the western limits of Africa’s Great Rift Valley, the lodge offers spectacular views over the vastness of Africa. The lodge also overlooks Lake Nakuru and its surrounding National Park, one that is a paradise for bird watchers and wildlife lovers alike. Lake Nakuru National Park is mainly a wooded and bushy grassland with a wide ecological diversity and characteristic habitats that range from the lake waters to the escarpment and ridges.
Journey past Mt Kenya to Samburu National Reserve, stopping for lunch in Nanyuki. Enjoy two nights with full day game drives, in search of the ‘Big Five’. (BLD)
Accommodation: 2 nights Ashnil Samburu Camp.
Ashnil Samburu Camp is a luxury tented camp set in the spectacular backdrop of the Mighty Ol Olokwe mountain fronting Ewaso Nyiro River in Buffalo Springs Game Reserve. The 30 exclusive luxury Tents are spread out along the shady banks of the river under a thick stand of doum Palms.
It features an outdoor swimming pool surrounded by sun lounges, a garden and a Lounge bar offering views of the African savannah. Each tent features a decked terrace with views of the Ewaso Nyiro River. The restaurant offers views of the river and serves a variety of menus comprising of Oriental, traditional and international cuisines. A range of activities are available on request and comprise of game drives, nature Walks and a cultural visit to the Samburu village, bush meals like bush lunch/dinner and sundowners.
Enjoy a full day exploring the game reserve with the offered activities. (BLD)
After an early game drive, transfer to Ol Pejeta Conservancy for two nights including game drives and a visit to the Chimpanzee Sanctuary. (BLD)
Accommodation: 2 nights Sweetwaters Serena Camp.
It’s location in a private conservancy with a higher wildlife-to-area ratio than any of Kenya's national parks makes Sweetwaters Serena Camp one of the most exclusive tented safari camps in Kenya. A sheltered oasis, clustered around a waterhole and set in the pristine calm of the private Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Sweetwaters Serena Camp offers a charming blend of under-canvas ambiance and Kenyan safari luxury.
The spacious tents combine the traditional ambiance of a safari camp with the comforts of home. They offer either a king bed or two twin beds and views of the water hole; amenities include a bathroom with a one-hand washbasin, a WC and a shower with a shower curtain.
Whether you’re preparing for an exciting day in Ol Pejeta Conservancy or unwinding after an eventful afternoon, you’ll be delighted with the welcoming atmosphere of The Rhino Room. Located in what was once the ranch manager’s house, the elegant restaurant features delicious international cuisine – punctuated by remarkable water hole views through floor-to-ceiling windows. In addition to the restaurant, Sweetwaters Serena Camp offers a cosy bar with a fireplace – perfect for relaxing with friends after an exhilarating safari.
A full day to explore the area with the activities offered.
Enjoy a morning game drive and bush breakfast before driving to Nairobi for lunch and end of safari. (B)
