Today you set off on your Uganda gorilla tracking adventure in the Bwindi Impenetrable National Forest Reserve – home to half of the world’s total mountain gorilla population. While trekking through the dense forest you’ll have the opportunity to view the mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Looking deep into the expressive brown eyes of the Gentle Giants of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park surely is the most exciting and poignant wildlife encounter that Africa has to offer. GORILLA TRACKING: The journey, through dense foliage and up steep climbs, is abundantly rewarded with the lifetime experience of viewing mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Mountain gorillas are extremely rare with only an estimated 850 remaining in the wild. This is an experience you won’t easily forget!

Today, after breakfast, you check out and drive to the Southern sector of the vast Queen Elizabeth National Park. Check in at Ishasha Wilderness Camp for lunch, late afternoon game drives returning to the camp before dusk for dinner and overnight. (BLD)
Accommodation: 1 nights Ishasha Wilderness Camp.
Ishasha Wilderness Camp is situated inside the southern Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park on the Ntungwe river, and is an idyllic retreat for people who truly enjoy the wilderness. This exclusive camp offers quality accommodation and services in this unspoilt remote southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park famous for its tree climbing lions that can sometimes be spotted resting in the branches of the large fig trees in the area.
Each of the ten spacious framed canvas rooms, situated in the wooded area besides the river, is comfortably furnished and with large mosquito netted beds, its own private en suite bathroom and dressing area providing running water, hot water ‘bush’ showers and a flushing eco-friendly toilet. A central lounge and dining area, under a cool thatched roof, provides a comfortable environment for meals and relaxing during the day. A shaded area beside the river offers al-fresco dining and an evening ‘fireplace’ for guests to relax with sundowners and share their day’s experience. As the camp is within the National Park, we have designed it to be as low impact as possible with low usage of water, power and other resources. Solar power is used for lighting with power points limited to a central area allocated for recharging cameras and videos.
An early morning game drive return to the camp for breakfast. Check out and drive to the Central sector of the park, check in for lunch at Mweya Safari lodge. Afternoon game drives in the Kasenyi area returning to the lodge before dusk for dinner and overnight. (BLD)

Mweya Safari Lodge offers visitors an unforgettable experience. Located on a peninsula within the heart of the Queen Elizabeth National Park, Mweya Safari Lodge is surrounded by the magical Rwenzori Mountains aptly described as the 'Mountains of the Moon'. To the east, lie the guardians of the birthplace of mankind, the Great Rift Valley hills, separated from the 'Mountains of the Moon' by the meandering Kazinga Channel. Here the water flows endlessly into two giant lakes – Lake George and Lake Edward.
Another day in the park with early morning and late afternoon game drives – enjoy an afternoon schedule shared boat cruise on the Kazinga channel – takes approx… 2 ½ hours. Late game drives returning to the lodge before dark for dinner and overnight. (BLD)
After breakfast, you will continue with your adventure, after a brief stop at the Equator, drive via Kasese and Fort Portal to Kibale Forest arriving for lunch at the Primate Lodge. Rest of the afternoon at your leisure. (BLD)

Whether you wish a high level of comfort, rather stay in a midrange cottage or want to bring your own tent, Primate Lodge is the ideal place for you!
So forget about rushing for the morning chimp tracking. Instead, wake up with the sounds of the forest, enjoy a delicious breakfast and prepare yourself for an exciting meeting with the chimpanzees!
Today, either full day chimpanzee habituation experience OR normal trek……

From here, you depart with a ranger (could be 2 or more, max clients allowed 12 pax) will lead you through the forest as they search for the troop of chimpanzees. On sighting the chimps, you will spend time with them, following them up to their nests and etc. You will have packed lunches, and the return to the lodge will be late in the evening approx... 1800 hours. (BLD)
After breakfast, you will drive back to Entebbe via Kampala. Lunch on own account, drop off at the Entebbe Int’l Airport for your onward flight (book flight departing at 2100 hours onwards owing to Covid-19 testing requirement). (B)

What our customers say
Our expectations for our first time in Africa were high, very high. And I would have to say that these expectations were exceeded in every way. Bench Africa assisted us to plan what would be the most perfect holiday in Kenya, Uganda, and Zanzibar. There were delays due to Covid, changes of mind on itineraries, and differing views on what we wanted to do. Throughout all of this, Bench Africa were so very helpful, honest, and professional. We cannot thank them enough. Each area that was suggested, and selected was so different to other regions we visited. The eco-systems so diverse. Different animals, birds, people and the cultures. Each day was memorising and magical. Each day provided so many highlights, so many happy memories. The different accommodations were in most cases brilliant, superb. The staff so quiet, reserved, closed; but once they knew we not a threat to their well-being they became the opposite. We enjoyed the many conversations, banter, and genuine friendships that followed. The game drive guides in each place were simply the best. In all, I simply run out of superlatives in describing each place. We had no favourites, nor did we rank them. To do so would be disrespectful to the other places. Each was different, unique, and for us they were pure luxury. Again, thank you so much for a 30 day trip of a lifetime and one we will never forget. Places we stayed: Amboseli - Elari Lodge. Such a different place with many eco-systems in the 1 National Park. Samburu - Elephant Bedroom Camp. Saw so many different animals of many different ages. Saw all 3 big cats here along with the "special 5". Masi Mara - Mara Ngenche. Rolling plains with so many animals, including the 3 big cats, hippos, and a brief glimpse of a "river crossing". Uganda was a 10 day tour staying at multiple places. It gave the experience of coming oh so close to Mountain Gorillas, Chimpanzees, and a visit to a Batwa tribe.
