Ulusaba is located in the western sector of the Sabi Sand Game Reserve with rooms spread over two lodges. Rock Lodge gives you panoramic views over the surrounding bush, set against a backdrop of the Drakensberg Mountains far in the distance. Each of the eight rooms has a different design reflecting African tribal influences and style. Nearly 500 metres away, located beneath a canopy of ancient trees, Safari Lodge sits on the edge of a dry riverbed. The 11 rooms provide fascinating views of the animals as they stroll past on their way to the nearby watering hole. Children over the age of 12 years are welcome at Safari Lodge.

Awesome holiday. Awesome company to deal with.

Our family has just returned from the most amazing holiday organised by the wonderful people at Bench Africa.

In the beginning, my wife and I had absolutely no idea about where to go and what to do. We were also traveling with our two children (aged 11 and 13) so it was important to us that the trip was safe and planned to take their ages into account.

Julie from Bench Africa took exceptional care of us and planned the whole trip in meticulous detail. She took the time to understand what we wanted to experience and planned the most amazing itinerary for our family. It wasn’t until we were in the midst of our African adventure that we understood the time and effort that Julie and the staff had gone to.

Bench Africa didn’t just plan us a holiday, they planned us an experience. One that we will always remember.

I cannot recommend the people at Bench Africa highly enough.

    Day 1 - Sabi Sand Game Reserve

    On arrival at Mpumalanga Airport you will be met and transferred by road to your lodge. (LD)

    Accommodation: 2 nights Ulusaba Safari Lodge.

    Ulusaba is located in the western sector of the Sabi Sand Game Reserve with rooms spread over two lodges. Ulusaba Safari Lodge sits on the edge of a dry riverbed. The 11 rooms provide fascinating views of animals as they stroll past on their way to the nearby watering hole. Children over the age of 12 years are welcome at Safari Lodge. Enjoy a selection of the following activities: Twice daily game drives – in the early morning and late afternoon/evening open 4X4 safari vehicles take you in search of the ‘Big Five’ and the many other wonders of the bush. An armed ranger and Shangaan tracker on each vehicle are constantly in contact others to keep track of animal movements. Strict vehicle limits at animal sightings ensure an exclusive game viewing experience and sensitive off road driving provides the best photo opportunities. Interpretive bush walks – between game drives, a leisurely walk within easy reach of your lodge allows you to take in the sights, smells and sounds of the African bush, accompanied by an armed ranger. Explore the finer details of your surroundings, from the intricate details of a spider’s web to the brilliant flash of plumage of one of the Sabi Sand’s many bird species. Learn about the medicinal uses of plants and shrubs or find out how the potato bush got its name.

    Day 2 - Sabi Sand Game Reserve

    Enjoy morning and afternoon game activities. (BLD)

    Day 3 - End of Ulusaba Safari Lodge Tour

    This morning after breakfast and an early morning game drive (time permitting), you will be transferred to Mpumalanga Airport for your onward flight. (B)
