Located in the malaria-free Eastern Cape is Kariega, a ‘Big Five’ private game reserve set in 10,000 hectares of pristine African wilderness. Kariega offers a combination of wildlife and an expansive variety of fauna, flora and birdlife in a landscape that spans across five different eco-systems. Activities include game drives, guided bush walks and river cruises. Main Lodge comprises of spacious and comfortable en-suite log chalets with private viewing decks and welcomes children with a play area and midday activities. Children are encouraged to join their parents on game drives and babysitting is available. Ukhozi Lodge offers 10 luxurious suites with private plunge pools. River Lodge offers 10 superbly appointed thatched suites and outdoor pool. Settlers Drift is a 5 star luxury tented lodge located in a remote part of the Kariega wilderness and comprises of nine tented suites.

    Day 1 - Kariega Game Reserve

    This morning you will be met in Port Elizabeth and transferred by road to your lodge for dinner and overnight. (D)

    Kariega Game Reserve is a family-owned and operated private game reserve in South Africa stretching across 10,000 hectares of pristine wilderness in the Eastern Cape. The Reserve is situated along the famous Garden Route, making it the perfect ‘Big 5’ South African safari destination to compliment a Cape Town visit and a trip along the country’s beautiful coast. This malaria-free South African game park is home to some of the richest biodiversity in Southern Africa, as well as two abundant rivers – the picturesque Kariega and Bushman’s Rivers.
