Full-Time: Reservations Consultant

 

At Bench Africa, we specialise in crafting exceptional journeys across Africa, and as a Reservations Consultant, you will be at the forefront of bringing these experiences to life. You will manage incoming calls and enquiries from travel agents and direct clients, focusing on creating accurate and personalised itineraries. From handling daily queries and responding to emails regarding quotes and bookings to offering detailed advice, you will play a key role in ensuring every trip runs smoothly.

This role also involves supporting travel agents with product knowledge and destination-specific queries, ensuring they have the confidence to sell Africa with ease. You will take part in trade events and industry promotions when required, sharing your expertise and passion for Africa to build strong relationships and generate new business.

To excel in this position, a deep appreciation and understanding of Africa as a travel destination is essential, along with excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask. Your role will be dynamic, requiring a proactive approach to creating meaningful travel experiences while maintaining the high standards Bench Africa is known for.

This role is primarily work-from-home, offering flexibility while being backed by a team of experienced professionals dedicated to supporting your success.


Full-Time: Administration Support – Reservations Team

 

In this support role, you will work closely with the Reservations team to ensure every detail of our clients’ African journeys is meticulously managed. Once payments are completed, you will perform final checks on files and bookings, confirming that flight details align seamlessly with the overall travel arrangements. You will reconfirm all bookings with suppliers across Africa, request final confirmations, and communicate any dietary or special requirements to ensure each journey meets the highest standards. Booking sheets will need to be saved with all relevant client information and organised into document folders ready for the Documentation team.

The role also involves liaising with ground operators, suppliers, and agents to address any final queries, assisting with the preparation of client documents when required, and running weekly reports to track final balances through Tourplan. Following up with agents for outstanding payments will form part of your responsibilities, as will acting as a reliable point of contact for agent and client questions—whether it’s advice on clothing, tipping, or regional information to help them prepare for travel. Your support will ensure the seamless delivery of travel arrangements and uphold Bench Africa’s reputation for expertly crafted African experiences. Familiarity with systems such as Tourplan and Wetu is preferred.

Full-Time: Documentation & Administration

 

This role involves working closely with the Reservations team and ground operators in Africa to finalise all travel arrangements and ensure all details are confirmed before preparing client documentation. Responsibilities include thoroughly reviewing client itineraries and cross-checking them with confirmations received from ground operators. You will also prepare vouchers when required, provide contact details for the documentation pack, monitor stock levels of document stationery, and ensure that all documents and brochures are posted out daily. The role includes maintaining and updating the Departure Diary, handling incoming calls when needed, and ensuring stock levels of satchels and envelopes for the postage of documents are maintained. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are essential.
