Muchenje is found in a stunning location on the western side of Chobe National Park, offering a unique wilderness experience and no crowds. Privately owned and managed, it has a personalised and relaxed ambiance for a maximum of 22 guests. Each of the stone-built, thatched cottages is situated on the escarpment with private, panoramic views of the river and floodplain. Safari activities include game drives in open 4X4 vehicles, bush walks, Chobe River cruise with picnic lunch, and cultural visits to local village and school.

Situated on the western edge of Chobe National park, Muchenje is the only accommodation in this area, offering unique, prolific game experiences. Only forty minutes drive from Kasane and just two hours from Victoria Falls and Livingstone. This is one of the best wildlife viewing areas in the whole of Botswana, if not all of Africa! Activities at the lodge include game drives are in open 4x4 safari vehicles, with knowledgeable and friendly professionally qualified guides - either early morning, afternoon or even the full day. Game viewing by boat on the Chobe River which provides the opportunity to see huge herds of elephants, as well as many other mammals and birds attracted to the water's edge.

THE HOLIDAY OF A LIFETIME

The lodges were all perfectly chosen to give us a great cross section of terrain & animals. All our accommodation was luxurious & extremely comfortable. The food was great & the staff at every single lodge was beyond outstanding. All transfers were seamless & made easy. Lots of wonderful surprises along the way too, like breakfast in the trees. If you have one trip in your lifetime, this is the one.

Bench Africa Awesome!

We used Bench Africa for our first trip to Africa, travelling to South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Mauritius. Everything was taken care of by our travel consultant, transfers, accomodation, extra activities at Vic Falls.
