Day 1 – Nile Cruise - Cairo
On arrival at Cairo International Airport you will be met by an airport representive and transferred to the Mövenpick Darakum Cruise Ship. Enjoy your afternoon at leisure and dinner onboard. (D)
Accommodation: 14 nights onboard the Mövenpick Darakum Cruise Ship (or similar).The Mövenpick Darakum is one of the largest vessels cruising the river Nile. Its Moroccan inspired design makes it stand out and it offers an unforgettable journey while cruising through 7,000 years of history. A variety of recreational activities are available including a swimming pool, sun deck with a recreational area, themed parties and a gym.
The ship features 44 Standard and Superior Cabins as well as 8 Suites uniquely designed in a Moroccan inspired décor. Offering panoramic views of the Nile, all cabins are air-conditioned and have been designed to the very highest of standards for your comfort and enjoyment throughout the trip. Each cabin has either two single beds or a king-size bed as well as a private bathroom with a bathtub and hairdryer. Further amenities include a minibar, satellite LCD TV, internal telephone, safe deposit box and two life jackets.
The Mövenpick Darakum offers a variety of dining and entertainment options. The Main Restaurant provides creatively themed buffets for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The uniquely designed Lounge Bar is the perfect venue for afternoon tea, cocktails as well as dancing and entertainment in the evenings. The Sun Deck is the perfect place to enjoy a variety of beverages and snacks while relaxing and luxuriating in the stunning views of the river Nile.Day 2 - Nile Cruise - Cairo

Day 7 - Nile Cruise - Assyut
Early morning sail to Tel El Amarna, the home of the Amarnian experience. (BLD)

09h30 – Arrive Amarna in time to visit Amarna Visitor Centre (at mooring point) with presentation on Akhenaten and Nefertiti. Visit to northern tombs Tomb of Ahmose (EA3), Tomb of Meryre (EA4), Tomb of Pentu (EA5), Tomb of Panehesy (EA6), Royal Tomb of Akhenaten (EA26). The Great Palace of King Akhenaten, the small and great temples of Aten (the visit is approximately 2.5 hours).
13h30 – Returning to the boat you will sail to Assyut. Stop in front of Prince Tawdrous Monastery to view the monastery from the boat (guide will of course provide some explanation on the importance of the monastery).
