Ant’s Hill and Ant’s Nest offer a unique safari experience only three hours drive from Johannesburg, located on a large privately owned game reserve in the Waterberg District of Limpopo. The area is free from malaria, making it particularly suitable for families with young children. Ant’s Nest and Ant’s Hill’s aim is to provide guests with a totally flexible activity based safari, allowing guests to choose which game viewing activities they would like to do and when. Activities included are game viewing on horseback, guided walks, mountain biking, and game drives. Both properties have a swimming pool where guests can relax during the daytime heat. Their herd of over 90 horses are fit, reliable and responsive, providing a choice for both the professional rider and the absolute beginner including children.

Awesome Family Trip to Sth Africa

We took all our family, total 10 adults, and 10 grandchildren (ages 4 to 11) on safari to South Africa last August. Julie de Palo put together an amazing eight days for us. Two Lodges, Ants Hill in Limpopo Province and Etali near the Botswana border. Both places exceeded our expectations: locale, facilities, staff, food, wines, all were 1st class. Then there were the animals! Wow we saw the Big 5 and so many more. Little people loved the 'up close and personal' horse riding adventures each day at Ant's Hill. And Etali game drives wonderful and guides so informative. We couldn't fault the whole experience and all of us have vowed to return!!
